Hola!  I am a high school Spanish teacher that teaches all levels of Spanish grades 9-12 via Distance Learning.  I am looking for ways to collaborate with schools in Latin America or Spain via Skype or video-conferencing (CIV) to practice language skills and share culture. Anyone interested?

Mirjan,

There is a very hopeful movement building community-based ecuation in the souh of Egypt. The folks I worked with in the Merowe Teacher Training Project in the north of Sudan looked to the book about the movement linked to below for inspiration because of the similarities in culture and governance between south Egypt and north Sudan. Not all of Egypt is like Cairo.

I have spent the last month visiting schools, training colleges and other education projects in Congo (Kinshasa, Goma, Ngondi and Vanga), Kenya (Nairobi and national) and Zambia (Lusaka). The kind of community-based solutions described by Zaalouk in her book are needed throughout Africa.

i am a researcher and also a teacher. i thank you all for sharing your experiences . it's good to know you are all doing great work out there.i have been exploring other countries and have gained so much experience and cultural exchanges. i wish any of you would take this opportunity to visit Ghana and have and exciting cultural and educational tour as you teach some children what you have for their betterment . thanks people.hope to here from you soon.
