I am passionate about teaching, collaborating with other education professionals and the richness of working with students and teachers of other cultures. My areas of interest include but are not limited to: meta-cognition, neuro-science and learning, kinaesthetic learning, formative assessment, self-regulation. Most specifically I am interested in language learning and learning in different languages.
If you have done work internationally, where and in what capacity?
I taught ESL to students from beginner to advanced level at the University of Guanajuato in Mexico.
I completed a six-week practicum at BIS, a BC Curriculum English immersion school teaching all subjects to grade 5 students.
I taught Western Teaching Methods to two cohorts of Chinese teachers in 2 8-week programs at Royal Roads University in Victoria, BC.
I participated in the BCTF Peru Project in the summer of 2013, facilitating workshops for Peruvian teachers in formative assessment and enhancement of the English language skills. The project also included collaborating with Peruvian colleagues and mentoring them to present workshops to their colleagues. My postings for the project were in Lima, Ica and Tarapoto in Peru.
If you are willing to volunteer, in what area(s):

How did you hear about us and a few words why you want to join EBB:
I heard about you from the Social Justice newsletter of the BC Teachers Federation.
I am passionate about sharing the advantages we enjoy as Canadian teachers and learning from my colleagues in other cultures and languages. My experiences so far have been extremely enriching on many levels and I look forward to continuing to "give back" and to receive as part of this organisation.
I consent to receiving important information including news, publications and invitations to programs and events.
