Skills & Interests
I enjoy working with others and I work well in team settings to achieve a common goal. I'm interested in learning about and doing what I can to help improve the education system in African countries. I volunteer with a local NGO that focuses on building schools and supplying educational support in remote regions of Ethiopia.
Two other interests I'm passionate about are travel and photography,
If you have done work internationally, where and in what capacity?
This is my second year leading a project at my school to help fundraise to build a school in Ethiopia. It was full-circle to visit the site in Mekele, Ethiopia (July '09) and to meet the very warm and grateful people of that community. This experience deepened my awareness of the importance to continue to support international projects within the education system.
How did you hear about us and a few words why you want to join EBB:
I heard about TWB-Canada through a friend and instantly wanted to learn more about this organization. TWB parallels my belief that education is the key to creating opportunity and breaking the cycle of poverty. It is therefore imperative to support teachers and their needs to strengthen their skills and create a stronger education system within developing communities.
