I have spent a year and half in Mexico and speak the language at a high conversational level. I also recently spent three months in Montreal learning French and I hope to go back for a year to learn more. I spent most of my summers in the outdoors hiking and camping.
If you have done work internationally, where and in what capacity?
I taught ESL in Mexico. This was my first experience and the teachers wanted me to give the instructions in spanish, but the language they were learning was English. SInce then I have taught ESL for a year and learned that it is more effective even for beginners to speak only English, but use lots of visuals and activities to facilitate the learning.
