Skills & Interests
I have experience, through a variety of roles including union president, in teacher-union activism and organization. I have facilitated many workshops related to teachers' rights (health and safety, union representation, staff committees, professional code of conduct, etc.) I have also presented professional development workshops on ESL strategies, curriculum adaptations and differentiation, and Primary education. I'm always interested in learning from other teachers, through the professional exchange of ideas in workshops, conferences, etc.
If you have done work internationally, where and in what capacity?
I have worked with high school teachers of English in China, co-facilitating a 3 week course on Using Higher Level Thinking Skills and Strategies in English as a Foreign Language classes.
If you are willing to volunteer, in what area(s):
curriculum development, mentor teaching, workshop facilitation, only interested in receiving information
How did you hear about us and a few words why you want to join EBB:
I heard about EBB through colleagues in British Columbia Teachers' Federation. I'm very interested in working with teachers and students, particularly in Asia and Africa, as these are areas I have enjoyed visiting in my travels.
