World Class Schools, Ghana Debate Association, Texas Youth and Government, Ontario Justice Education Network, as well several different YMCA's all over the world, are joining together to provide you a rare and unlimited opportunity.

During the week of Nov. 26-30, 2012, we are going to make a difference in the world because we are going to bring the world to your classroom. We will all participate in the Time Project.

2012 Case Mock Bail Hearing Scenario: R. v. Souza

Marco Souza, a 17 year-old, is charged with theft under $5000, possession of stolen goods over $5000 and breaching previous bail conditions. He has a previous conviction for dangerous driving and other outstanding charges. The crown is seeking a detention order on the basis of a reverse onus, but Marco has several people willing to act as his surety. This bail resource can be used for in-class instruction, as a homework exercise, or as the basis of a dramatized mock bail hearing activity. The package includes relevant law, explanation of the bail process, key information about young people and bail, discussion questions, fact sheets and guidelines for all necessary roles.

For each OJEN mock bail hearing, there are three packages: an OJEN Mock Bail Hearing Scenario; the OJEN Mock Bail Hearing Role Preparation Package; and the OJEN Mock Bail Hearing Justice Sector Volunteer Package.
