My interest is in International Development Education with a specific focus on langauge and literacy. I recently completed my M.Ed. at OISE/ UBC in these areas. Within language and literacy, I have training in TESL, early literacy, and multicultural education. I've done some work in curriculum development and teacher training in global education.
If you have done work internationally, where and in what capacity?
-UNICEF India: writing a case study on assessing a pilot Sports for Development program
-China: assisted caregivers of babies at a state run orphanage
-Cambodia: volunteer TESL, and one-on-one work with instructors in non-formal education (preschool day care/ after school drop in ESL classes)
Thanks for getting in touch. I did complete the CID at UBC. I did it mostly while I was working in China. At the present moment I am working for a sports for development project in Southern Africa, in Lesotho. I have kind of moved away from school-based education at the moment. I would love to hear about your experience in India. What was the program?
